"At 11:40 on January 16, 2019, the Crisis Management Center of the General Directorate of the Emergencies Ministry of Russia in the Leningrad Region received a message about the explosion at: Kingisepp District, Polyplast North-West industrial zone," writes the incident of the Emergencies Ministry in the Leningrad Region. .
72 people were evacuated from the staff working at the enterprise of the shift. By 13:45 local time, the fire at the plant was extinguished.
The governor of the Leningrad Region, Alexander Drozdenko, clarified that the industrial building was destroyed by an explosion.
"There is an analysis of debris, the two-story industrial building is completely destroyed," the governor wrote in his Instagram account. According to Drozdenko, the victims of the explosion received "bruises, cuts, abrasions."
In Kingisepp Interdistrict Hospital, it was clarified that some of the victims will remain in the medical institution. They received wounds and bruises from fragments of brick and glass.
